37 WEEKS!

That's right...we're 37 weeks along, which means Alyssa is a full-term baby. Now the question is: How much longer does she want to stay in Hotel Uterus? Ah, that's the million dollar question!

My mom and our good family friend Barbara threw Alyssa a beautiful baby shower. Everything was just gorgeous- from the Geogetown cupcakes, to flower arrangements, and all of the beautiful presents - we had a wonderful time!

Final Birthday Celebration

We had my final birthday celebration at my mom's house over the weekend. We ate yummy lasagna, caprese, bruschetta, salad and cake!

One year older...one year wiser...and 20 times pinker, thanks to my dear friend Ashleigh. We walked out of our house this morning to find about 20 pink flamingos planted in our yard! Thanks for the birthday wishes, Ashleigh!! What a way to start my birthday!! We love them!

Inaugural Grill Off!

With temperatures reaching over 60 degrees for the first time this year, we couldn't think of a better time to use our NEW GRILL (compliments of my cousin Matt and his fiance Erin) for some delicious steaks made by Grillmaster Mike. They were incredible and we can't wait to grill out all spring and summer long! :)

34 Weeks!

I came home yesterday to Alyssa's letters on her wall! What a wonderful surprise from Mike! Her room is nowhere near complete but seeing this got me so excited and made everything very real!!

Birthday Week Kick-Off

We kicked off my birthday celebration at the Chart House in Old Town, Alexandria on Saturday night. It was a gorgeous day and we got to watch the sun set on the Potomac. The food was delicious and the menu even said "The Alexandria Chart House Want To Wish Ashley a Happy 27th Birthday!!" The lava cake for dessert hit the spot. It usually takes 30 minutes to make from the time you order it, but we lucked out and had one ready for us immediately!

Mike and I hosted our first dinner party in our new home this past weekend. It's the first of our monthly dinner parties we are doing with a group of friends. Each couple was responsible for bringing a different plate of food and we went all out Italian-style. On the menu at la casa de Bernardi: Gnocchi with meat sauce (my family recipe!), caprese, salad, bread, cherry pie, and ice cream. It was a huge success and we can't wait to do it again!
